I really, really have come to like Amazon this past Christmas season. I was a little upset that they didn't do anything great for black friday, but, then, just before Christmas, they lowered their prices on hundreds of items to rock bottom.

Seriously, we got $40 toys for $4. Because we had Amazon Prime, we got them shipped for that, too. We had the UPS man coming to our house daily with truckloads of stuff.

Amazon's service was very good. The deals just kept coming. It took some time to keep up with them, but, when they happened, they were awesome.

Amazon Prime is a deal where you can pay $80 per year and get second day shipping free. It's only good for items sold and shipped by Amazon.com - not by other sellers. If you rely on internet shopping, it is worth having. Otherwise, Amazon offers free shipping if you get over $25. However, on some of these fast deals, you will lose the deal if you have to search for $25 worth of Amazon stuff to fill your cart.

I didn't think it would be worth the $80, but I have had it for less than two months and I can tell you I have made the money back already.

I can order a $5 item and have shipping included. And, that's not only to my address. I shipped wedding presents and Christmas presents to friends and relatives, no extra shipping.

I have had some trouble with DHL. When Amazon uses them, I often don't get my item in time. Generally that's ok, but not when I have a deadline for a gift.

All in all, I have been very pleased. Oops, almost forgot one of the best parts - if you use www.priceprotectr.com or a similar service, you can enter your Amazon purchases. If an item goes down in price within 30 days, Amazon will give you the difference. They do not price match to other stores, but you do get money back if they lower their own price.
