Pros: Strong suction. Brush turns off when handle is upright. True HEPA filtering.
Cons: Brush lever hard to move. Upholstery tool hard to snap into storing clips.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this vacuum highly because of its excellent cleaning and great price. The same vacuum can be bought as the 4870DT Omega for even less $.

Pros: Very quiet, good suction and cheap.
Cons: Heavy and questionable quality.
The Bottom Line: This vacuum is a great value. But reliability is still questionable. Even with quality issues this vacuum is still a steal.

Pros: Suction, suction, suction! Easy to plug in hose, long cord.
Cons: A bit heavy and bulky, need a screwdriver to change the belt, superfluous features.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. It has drawbacks, like its weight, but its suction and efficiency make up for its shortcomings.

Pros: 12-amp professional-grade cleaning power, tools store on the cleaner, quiet.
Cons: Handle release pedal hard to press. Assembling the tool extension wand requires some practice.
The Bottom Line: Eureka's SmartVac 4870 combines the suction power of a canister with the carpet cleaning power of an upright in a single unit.
